Creators

Our names are Chloe Hannum and Jenny Addis. In our Sophomore year of High School, we were given an assignment to use 20% of our time in class to research a topic that could help others or help ourselves by creating a hands on project. We decided that we wanted to create an organization to help the homeless community in our local area.

Inspiration

When I (Chloe) was little, my mom would take my sister and I into Philly on the weekends. We always went to this one store to get breakfast and left with enough food to give to Charlie as well. Charlie was a man struggling on the streets, he always had the best attitude about life. Every weekend we would go visit him and catch up with him about what our weeks were like. He called us Charlie's Angles. It was starting to get really cold in Philly and we went to go visit him but he was not there anymore. I haven't seen Charlie since but he changed my life and inspired everyone in my family to help people who are struggling on the streets. After that, any time my family had the chance to go into Philly we would always find bags around the house and fill them with things people may need and we would deliver them all around Philly. From my childhood memories of passing around these bags, Jenny and I thought it would be a great idea to make a whole project out of these bags.

The Name

The name of our project Note in a Tote was created simply from how it sounds. Our project is based upon delivering bags around Philly to people in need. These bags will include items homeless people need every day. Things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, reusable water bottles, granola bars, trail mix, maps of near by homeless shelters, hats, gloves, and socks. Besides just products we wanted to put a personal touch on the bags. We add a little note in each of the bags to inspire and brighten the individuals day just a little! Anyone can create a note. Please press the button below to create your own note.
